Movement
Movement Therapy, Movement Analysis, Movement Education. I have been involved in all aspects of movement as a therapeutic, educational, personal development and community-building tool.
Dance & Movement Therapy
I trained and work professionally as a Dance-Movement Therapist (Masters in Somatic Psychology from Naropa University), Body-Mind Psychotherapist and Certified Laban Movement Analyst. In this work, we harness the power of sensation, movement and the voice as a tool for transformation. I help people to heal and re-pattern the imprints of painful experiences as well as to open to new experience and growth. This incredible field is worth exploring.

As a Dance/Movement and Creative Arts Therapist, I weave together dance, movement, art, rhythm, sandplay and song. I have worked with children, families and adults in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings: hospitals, daycares, wilderness camps, schools, community centres and clinics. I love to watch how children excitedly and readily respond to the invitation to express themselves through movement and the arts…where portals open, imagination soars, and play saves the day, quite literally. When we can create robustly sensory-rich, movement-inducing, dynamic and creativity enhancing environments for children, they flourish in their expression and learning!
Not to mention what happens when adults engage in Dance and Creative Arts Therapy. Within each adult, there is the desire to break free of our limitations, expand our consciousness and claim a heart full and passionate life of service.
Whether in training courses such as at West Coast Dance/Movement Therapy (www.westcoastdmt.com) or in retreats, I enjoy playing with big people as much the little ones.
